Before i lay me down to sleep

Before i lay me down to sleep
i ask god to give me one thing
a true man to love me
god may you give him
eyes that will only sparkle
when only looking at me
a body that hes always trying to
make it look better and better
that all girls stand on every corner
and the only girl who gets to label it is me
a touch that melts my body and makes my heart
beat almost out of me
may he have bronze colored eyes
may he have a smile with nice teeth
may his hair be light brown
with blonde spots
may he find my poetry
about a girl who wishes to die
but go out and find her
by looking deeply into my eyes
never let him stop talking
to his friends about how much i love him
may he be some one who hangs pictures
in frames all over the house, and if he
cannot find some, may he draw some
and call it art of friendship
may he love me
like i have always wanted
when i was a little girl
may he be a somebody to me
and a someone to others
may he find me
and never stop searching
no matter how many years
