Dreams and Serenity

by Orchid Man   Jun 3, 2008

As sleep has captured our imaginations.......
....and dreams tenderly enfold us with their magic
I lie here beside you in peace and contentment.......
....in the knowledge you too are sleeping within your own enchantment.

High above us the bright moon circles; soaking up the night sky
As I sleep in silence I wonder what tales that orb holds within its glow
How many centuries of earth tides has it watched ebb and flow?
Did my Orchid Lady come to me lying abreast of a Heavenly moon beam?

The sun is patiently waiting its turn, warming the stars that brighten the sky
Stars that delight us with their white and red colourings yet are never lit by the sun
Orchid of my life, there is not one star containing the light shining from your eyes
Nor is there one that could ever match the emerald greenery of their fascination.

A gentle feeling of serenity comes over me as my dream seeks new happenings
You and I are transported to a sun-drenched tropical island.......
....where the sea comforts the sandy beach with its cooling waves
You and I are together free from the clutter and wants of everyday living.

Clouds sit among the sky like effortless floating balls of cotton wool
At times they shelter us from the endless clutches of the burning sun
Sweetheart, before I wake and face a new day; my dream reminds me.......
....Orchid Lady, you are no dream - I thank God for your reality.

I need you sweetheart
