Rip The Wing

by David ODonnell   Jun 4, 2008

Can you see the forming grey
Around my eyes from your dismay
With you I flew into the sky
Opened up and learnt to cry

I broke my soul and wings for you
And prayed for more but more anew
I was a man that once lived strong
And made it right when it was wrong

But now so sad to carry on
Its hard to walk since youve been gone
The door now closed and locked so tight
Flames have dimmed from once so bright

I painted rainbows in your skies
Kept you safe from all the lies
Stuck around when others fled
Held your hand and stroked your head

Made you smile when you were sad
Got out your way when you were mad
Stuck around to hear you sing
Untill you went and ripped the wing
