Void

by silvershoes   Jun 4, 2008

Delving deep, a shallow place
Nothingness wraps her arms
Around my weary bosom
She strokes my eyelids, whispers
There is a debt we all must pay
The choice is yours, to stay or
Cease to be--
Seep into the void

I wish I could slide away, forests
Wrap their branches, unbending
Prison bars without a door
Chains from foot to foot
Blunt hammer finds my skull
Crushed, but the heart still throbs
Thinking, I find myself sinking
Into shallow water

The current pulls, it grabs
My throat clutched; asphyxiation
Strangulation, fixation
The possibility of illumination
For there might be elation
In knowing a divine purpose
Justification for enduring
Eternity, its duration

Diving head first into the
Bottomless void of psychosis
I would tear a hole in space
Leaving solitude amiss
As a dead star fades from grace
Chocking on abyss, vaguely
A portrait of lunacy
My misunderstood bliss
