Cross Out The Eyes (Monorhyme)

by Ashleigh Skye   Jun 6, 2008

Don't forget to cross out the eyes,
blind them forever to the midnight skies,
ignore the whimpers and the cries,
but whatever you do cross out the eyes.

Don't forget about the eyes,
your tools you don't need to sanitize,
a little puncture and a slow demise,
without the glory of the last sunrise.

You don't have to pretend to idolize,
the task in which you exercise,
your job can even be minimized,
as long as you get the eyes.

The painful screams you can neutralize,
the body's reaction you can utilize,
as long as you don't empathies,
and neglect to get the eyes.

So don't over analyze,
simply go in and brutalize,
but whatever you do don't get hypnotized,
by the sparkling, shiny eyes.

So now I leave you to finalize,
the task which you once criticized,
stepping back as you go pulverize,
and forever closing those eyes.

*Monorhyme:A Monorhyme is a poem in which all the lines have the same end rhyme*

The rhyming was good and strong. But the peom could do with out the repetition, it gets old after a while. 5/5

I liked the poem...I woldn;t quite say that I like the style as I'm not one for repetitiveness, however as far as the style goes...you did great.

    My fav stanza is...
    So don't over analyze,
    simply go in and brutalize,
but whatever you do don't get hypnotized,
    by the sparkling, shiny eyes.

I like the imagery and meaning of this.

    Great work!
