Sorry, Blame it on Me

by Ashleigh Skye   Jun 6, 2008

"Sorry, blame it on me"
that was my response all the time,
we'd argue, I'd cave,
and then things would be fine.

It was almost like a script,
and now apparently it has come to a close,
all because,
of the words that you chose.

And the way that you said them,
still brings tears to my eyes,
when I remember before,
all the shouts and the cries.

No one would ever guess now,
how close we used to be,
but I never thought it would get this bad,
hell, we've always been family.

But even family can go too far,
and you definitely crossed the line,
spitting acid out of your mouth,
then expecting things to be fine.

And because of what just happened,
things will never be the same,
so don't expect me to say,
"Sorry, blame it on me."

"that was my response all the time,"
[that was my response every time]
    - All the is blunt, every is in a way too. But, I'd like to think is a bit more poetic.

"But even family can go to far,"
    to= too

I really like this poem. It's relatable to a lot of people, one being me. Which I think made the emotional values even stronger. You've done a good job writing.

    Kudos.
