Peace at 103MPH (acrostic alphabet)

by Ashleigh Skye   Jun 6, 2008

Alone you sit
Behind the wheel,
Calm, a feeling you haven't felt in
Decades, only the
Emptiness
Flows through your mind, you've
Gotten better at hiding it,
However,
It still manages to come back,
Just when you least expect it,
Kicking you in the butt,
Letting you know that the
Moonlight won't last forever,
Nor will the feeling
Of the open road,
Passing swiftly beneath your
Quickly
Rotating tires,
Still you push that feeling behind you,
Telling yourself that you deserve this,
Undoing the feeling of sadness created by life on the
Very
Well ridden road and it's amount of
X-tra passengers over the years and finally,
Your face breaks into a smile as you continue
Zipping freely down the road of life.

*(An acrostic alphabet poem, is where each line begins with a letter of the alphabet consecutively. Example http://www.poems-and-quotes.com/sad/poems.php?id=642882)*

Oh my gosh, I love this! It's so unique and I loved how you were so able to keep the poem going within the same emotions and meanings. Well done, Ashleigh.

I think you've convinced me to give this a try. I've tried the alphabet poem, where you write ONE word per letter to form the alphabet and a poem, not an acrostic form of it. Seems interesting, yet a big challenge.
