I Told You It Was Orange

You see that purple crayon
Right over there?
Set in the box
That has been treated fair

I drew a picture in class today
The teacher hung in on the wall
It's a very orange monkey
I will try to tell it all

I pulled out a crayon
To color a monkey
I swear it was supposed to be purple
It looked pretty funny

But instead of the purple
My hand grabbed the orange
Friend, it was supposed to be purple
But I told you it is orange

I don't know quite how it happened
But I grabbed orange instead of purple
And now there's a monkey on the wall
And I told you it was orange.
