Tonight no moon or stars shone in the darkened night sky.......
....there were no clouds to throw their dancing shadows through the bedroom windows
As I turned in my sleep and looked across at you I noticed a golden glow
Was I really awake or did my eyes see you through my peaceful sleeping?
I rubbed my eyes; then half-asleep I looked at you again.......
....Orchid Lady that golden glow remained transfixed in my eyes
Then I realised you really are that angel I hold so dearly in my heart
I lay there with this amazing memory of you knowing I may never see it again.
The night moon and stars were hidden from my view yet I saw this halo
Sweetheart could this have been a reflection of your golden hair?
Outside a street lamp beamed its light into our bedroom.......
....perhaps it was this light that made your hair shine in this way.
I lay my head back upon my pillow; smiling as my thoughts turned to you
To be here beside you fills my heart with so much happiness and peace
Long gone are my days and nights of loneliness; all replaced with your beauty
No flower has graced my eyes with the prettiness that lives deep within you.
My body is calling me back to sleep - back to my own night dreaming
But before I release my mind to adventures that may await my sleeping thoughts.......
....I turn back to you to see that glow once more.... mysteriously it has vanished!
