When Good Men Do Nothing

by Michael D Nalley   Jun 9, 2008

An eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth
This is only a part of a divine truth
If it is misunderstood by people
Blind folks will hide under their steeple

Laws are to sink your teeth in
Granted we live beneath sin
Do we live with toothless men?
Who can't see where we've been?

Burn the Christians, Muslims, or Jews
Anyone that cannot share our views
Play the game ring around the roses
With the dogmatic law of Moses

Now divisions begin to increase
In good men that desire a peace
Darkness is nothing but lack of Light
When good men do nothing but fight

I believe it was religion that killed Christ
So what if our God had to be sacrificed
There will be peace under the Chosen One
When the good Lord's will is completely done

ps: I loved the 4th stanza, 2nd line, the way that can be taken in two different ways. I'm not sure if you meant that, but I thought it was neat. :)
