Unfinished

by Tony Rifas   Jun 9, 2008

When we gonna wipe all the tears from our children's faces
Young'ns havin fun in sunny weather runnin the bases
is what life's all about, not DCF cases
And violences touches these kids in all the wrong places
Not just kids - the women and men too - by cultivating hatred like we never were meant too, they'll vent through the fists while violence insists
but when the heart can assist, then only love will persist til then
our daily agenda consists of a twist of the wrist
We dismiss our chance of reconciliation
We need celebration of every creation
Especially those with whom we share blood relation

What about the homeless people who just want to eat? Bein drained of nutrition by the summer heat? We'll try to feed them with the money from this beat, but we gotta get em off the street, dimes will never make your ends meet

    Wow,
You speak of so many truths. It is so sad that this world talks of change but does nothing to rectify the situations we are bound to.
As for your poem I think it would read easier if you divided it up a little bit. Please only take this as critique and not downing your poem. You have tremendous talent.

Everytime I read one of your poems I think that perhaps one day in the future I will be hearing this as a rap on the radio. It would be refreshing to hear words like this though.
