Perfect Marriage?

by Kevin Askew   Jun 9, 2008

I once had a life, in love with my wife
Every day seemed like it was special
The children that came to us of our love
Made life so great to be part of.

As we developed the marriage we had
We could see no bounds to it
Things were becoming so perfect for us
as if they were wrote from a script

The children have grown and now fled the nest
Leaving behind the remnants of our life
Boredom replaced the joy that we had
Irritation reared it's ugly head.

23 years of marriage we treasured
Now destroyed by mistrust and hatred
Two people who used to love each other
Torn appart by the life they created.
