My Blessing

by Holly   Jun 10, 2008

Its not a blessing everyone gets.
Its not a blessing that happens every day.
Its not a blessing Im sure I deserve,
But to keep it, I will fight and pray.

Its not a blessing that comes in a box,
Its not a blessing that comes with a bow,
Its not a blessing that came with a tag,
Its a blessing that continues to grow.

Its not a blessing that has a price,
Its not a blessing you can compare,
Its not a blessing you can find,
Its a blessing that will make you stop and stare.

You are my blessing.
My gifts from above.
My precious angels
Youre my one true love.

And though daddys in heaven,
And mommy always cries,
And grandma doesnt know you,
Youre always full of life.

And although life is hard,
And mommy cant really cook.
You take away all my pain.
With a sweet, innocent look.

You are my angels,
My gifts from above,
My life couldnt be better
Because all I need is your love.

To my twins. Who have taught me to love and taught me how to grow up.

The brutal honesty in this poem is exquisite. It shows the raw truth behind your life and I think that is very bold and brave thing to do. I enjoyed reading this and I feel very compassionate at the end. Well done.
