Demolished and Destroyed

by TheRevelation   Jun 10, 2008

The door handle dangling with an ominous shriek,
Footsteps carved into the wooden porch,
I have been treaded on,
Over and over.

Once a window, now a hole, edges jagged,
Blood stained and fresh from a broken entry,
There has been a break in,
Nothing has been taken, not really.

The roof has caved in from the mistreatment,
No one but you come here, no really, only you,
Something does seem to be out of place,
Let us see.

Dust layers the walls and floors inside, unused,
Drops of red lead a trail to a ruined room,
Treasure from my chest sits on a stand,
Demolished and destroyed as I am,
I watch as you play with my heart.

Such a unique write and one that compels you read over and over. Let see, from the wooden porch, to the broken window, your house has seen better days!! This a wonderful metaphor, which has been discribed beautifully!

To me it is totally submissive, you have no energy left, no will to fight any more, no heart worth saving! So sad!

One question, who is playing with your heart, am ex, who abused your heart, or a new love?

    Well done
