You're the closest to me,
the single person that truly knows it all.
Sure, i do have those other so called "friends",
but your the only one i have without any walls.

What we want seems to always be just out of reach.
Our pasts seem to be inevitably entwined everywhere.
We have had our ups and downs together, but we
always seem to find a way to be there for each other.

You have changed so drastically recently.
I can see a different flicker in your smile.
There is a whole new side of you,
brought out with a whole new style.

It has been so long since i have
seen you this comfortable and content.
Your no longer hiding behind a tormenting mask,
no longer captured in a unbearable torment.

Something has let you show the sides you've guarded so cautiously.
Your no longer feeling the need to hide what is truly there.
God has let you discover what you thought was surreal.
I get what i have prayed for, babe, you're finally beginning to repair.

I hope that things only improve,
that this feeling never has to end.
You deserve to be treated right,
and finally have a guy be your best friend.
