Our Angel

We meet some five years ago,
Do you remember that night too?
We danced until the moon fell away,
Did you want to hold me forever too?
We kissed until the sun came up,
Did you fall for me as hard as I fell for you?
We departed for a short while,
Did it break your heart to leave my side?
We spoke every day,
Did you put off hanging up as I did?
I fell more in love with you every day,
Did you fall for me too?
We made love for the first time that one night,
Did you feel like you finally found where you belonged?
We held each other until the sun came up,
Did you dream dreams as sweet as mine?
We discovered I was pregnant three months later,
Did you still think I was beautiful?
We fought a lot but loved even more,
Did you see through my insecurities?
You were there when I faced the pain,
Did you say a little prayer for me?
You loved our children so much,
Did they remind you of me?
We were going to marry,
Did you count the days down too?
We were going to be a family,
Were you as excited as me?
You were driving home to us,
Did you not see the rain?
You were rushing home to be a father, a lover,
Did you turn too fast?
You died in my arms,
Did it hurt very much?
We all wept for our loss,
Did you see us?
We tried to move on,
Can you see us from heaven?
We still love you so much,
Will you wait for us?
Are you there waiting,
With our child I lost?
Will you watch over us,
And keep us safe from harm?

*I'm not the best writer, but this is about my twins' father. He died last year in a car crash*

    Wow you are very talented so don't under estimate yourself so much, this poem was so touching, it was so sad but had so much beauty to it.

    you're a very strong person,I'm going 2 be 18 in a few days and don't think i would be able to deal with all that. i hardly cope with myself, i would never myself coping with children but i guess being a mother and having children is like a gift and this poem really showed what a loving and genuine person you are!!

    i know this is really different but i lost my brother almost 2 months ago, 2 months on the 16th. anyway every time i miss him i go look at the stars and know its him shining down on me to let me know he is safe and watching over me, he is now my angel just like your children's dad is your angel and will always remain alive in your heart as long as you allow him 2. he will always be looking over you and protecting you.

    Omg that is like the sadest poem in the word. Im trying really hard not to cry. How sad. You have had a tough life, yet you seem so strong and well. I envy your strength and wish you the best. The poem is truely beautiful and I am sure he is watching over you and your children. God bless you!
