Final Cost

by Lauren   Jun 10, 2008

I tried to help you,
But you wouldn't swallow your pride,
And I fell with you,
That day your soul died.

I could still see light,
Behind your eyes,
I reached out,
And tried to pull you from beneath your lies.

I can't say you fixed yourself,
I can't say you even tried,
I can't say you even wanted my help,
But I can say I tried.

Tears of my emotions,
Are falling from my eyes,
These scars that reside on my skin,
Show the hurt and pain from my life.

I've given up on helping you,
You only push me away,
I'm through with feeling guilty,
Because you're throwing your life away.

You'll die alone regretting,
All the years you lost with me,
Can you bear the final cost,
Of all your indignity.
