Nothing Left Between Us

by Becca   Jun 11, 2008

There is nothing left between us,
But idle conversation.
It's all so superficial
When it comes down to us.
The slightest wind blown,
Swept it all away,
And carried it to a place.
Now you can't find the time.
I'm a pencil mark in your agenda,
A forgotten branch on your family tree.
You've cut me down
To make room for a replacement.
I love you and I miss you so much,
But I keep silent.
Heaven forbid I ruin you happiness
By telling you how I feel again.
Still you'll just brush it off
Or share that with someone else,
Betray my confidence
And make you look like the victim.
There's nothing left between us,
But polite hellos and fake smiles,
And so many things,
We both wish we could say.
There's nothing left between us,
Except the thickness in the air,
Hours of awkward silences,
And that stupid "RED" elephant.
There's nothing left between us,
But the broken relationship that we have,
The thrown away idea of closeness we could've had,
And the storm that's washing the love away.
There's anger and resentment between us.
I can't reach you or see you.
There's nothing left between us,
Except the person you allowed to get there.
And I hate you for it,
Because now you're slipping away.
