Tears turn to rose petals
When you're screaming in the dark
But a poem's just a poem
Till they say its a piece of art

Tears turn to rose petals
Rose petals into poems
A poem's just a poem

Just keep crying petals
Write roses till it hurts
Stringing words together
Till you find a rhyme that works

Screaming in the dark
Tears to roses turn
Light a little candle
And watch your poem burn

Light a poem on fire
Sad ones burn the best
A poem's just a poem
And it burns like the rest

Sad poems burn the best
Explode in the night
Maybe write another
Just to give you light

Fire turns to embers
Get lost in the dark
A poem's just a poem
Not a work of art

Tears turn into poems
With rose petals in between
In the pitch black poet's night
Nothing is as its seems

Why is poet crying?
Did he get darker eyes?
How bright does his poem burn?
How poetic are his lies?

A rhyme is just a rhyme
A dark is just the dark
The clock just ticks away time

A fire's just a fire
Light a poem to make you see
Everything is all it was
And thats all it will ever be
