You are my heartbeat

by Orchid Man   Jun 11, 2008

Orchid Lady, thank you so much for lifting my spirits today
Outside the winter wind is howling as though it is calling out in anger
Rain is tumbling down like an endless stream of tears from passing clouds
But sitting here beside you gives me such contentment and inner peace.

The uncertainties and wildness of winter have crept upon us.......
....trees are bent as though cowering to the might of nature's wind
Their branches are leafless and the birds have flown to warmer climes
Yet whenever I look at you the warmth of summer feels unending.

How I wish we were out together holding hands as we walked with nature
Smiling as you pointed out roadside flowers forever greeting us with their splendour
Occasionally stopping for moments to listen to the birds as they chatted to each other
Though I must confess nothing fills me with more happiness than being here beside you.

Had I never found you my life would have been filled with a terrible loneliness
I would never have witnessed that overhelming joy as our hands touched each other
Nor would I have felt the love that you unselfishly share with me.......
....a love that will only enter my heart once in my lifetime.

Before the light fades and the dark of night falls upon us I wish you to know.......
....you have brought into my life a happiness far above any I could have imagined
Tonight as we slip into our own dreams; private moments of sleep
Orchid Lady my heart is filled with love for you and you alone.

Let the storm rage - our hearts are as one
