Happy again

Crying in my sleep
Why can't it all go away?
I made myself believe it would all turn out okay
And you didn't help stop my dreams
You didn't help, so they didn't go away

You don't even realize what you did
You probably think you did nothing wrong at all
But when you smiled and made me feel so warm
That was your mistake; that's where you went wrong

Quit looking at me
Quit talking to me
Because the more I see you, the more I want you
And wanting you could never be a good thing

I want you to be there by my side
I want you to put your hand in mine
I want you to kiss my forehead
But wanting never got anyone anywhere

Crying in my sleep
Why can't it all go away?
I made myself believe it would all turn out okay
And you didn't help stop my dreams
You didn't help, so they didn't go away

I wake up in the middle of the night, sometimes
And my cheeks are wet
My mind takes me to a place, where you are, to help me to forget
You're there telling me to cheer up and drying away my tears
Cause you're the only one who can make me happy again without a couple beers

Crying in my sleep
Why can't it all go away?
I made myself believe it would all turn out okay
And you didn't help stop my dreams
You didn't help, so they didn't go away
