Bittersweet

by MissG   Jun 12, 2008

It crept upon us like nothing had before
This harmless disease could not help but to start a war
Who she was, she no longer knew
Her childish innocence only left us feeling blue

Everyday we prayed
"Dear God, help us, we are so afraid"
Why does it seem time only moves when one is sickly?
It can't be over yet, not so quickly.

Ice cold, the day was gray
My body was here, my mind so far away
Swarms of people and tears to fill the ocean
I had never been taken over by so much emotion

Summer had ended and winter had started
It got so cold when you parted
Bittersweet-for the good and the bad
All that is left are the memories we had

If "She's in a Better Place?"--
Why can't I help but to feel the empty space?
