The sea of sand and clouds

by StandStill   Jun 14, 2008

There's a place God must've blessed
where the water swirls like sand.
Maybe an intentional accident?
Lovely beauty unplanned.

And a city sleeps on it,
the gentle sands of time.
A city made of clouds and dreams
in the world's after-light.

Shock still it rests grandly,
a kingdom made of clouds.
Resting on the sea of sand,
so demurely grand, but ne'er proud.

Maybe that's where heaven is,
mystic second star on the right?
The waves come crashing in...
and the city's swallowed from sight.
