Who Am I ?

by Michael D Nalley   Jun 14, 2008

Who am I ? He said I am what I am,
Strong as a lion, gentle as a lamb.

Alpha and omega, beginning and end
A foe to the evil, to the good a friend
Fortitude to the poor in spirit, not weak
Serenity and humility for the meek

Creator of harmony, it is chaos I detest
I am a safe haven for those who desire rest
Comfort for the sick, healing for the ill
All required is for you to accept my will

If you don't know Me, you are on your own
Those whom welcome Me I won't leave alone
To know Me is to love Me to hate is a mistake
The Creator God whose creation I won't forsake

Who am I ? He said I am what I am,
Strong as a lion, gentle as a lamb.

Definately one of my very favorites. You are who you are, not what people want you to be. You are what God created.

Very deep and powerful write you have here. You spoke of these others are scared to express and you depicted it beautifully. Well done *5/5*

I loved the first two lines. Set the mood for the rest of the write. Who does really know who they are deep down? Very easily related to, because everyones gone through that questioning. Excellent read 5/5

You have style and a command of words that scream "POET". Nice work.

I very much liked reading this poem. The use of the question "Who am I?" works great because the poem is constantly kind of questioning you to know... which I thought was very neat. I like how within the last stanzas you come across in a little bit stronger tone then in the first. Overall you did very well this and I thought it was a great read. Nice work!
