For you beloved

by JCV   Jun 15, 2008

For you,
Beloved, I walked the roads at such a slow pace,
So that I may meet you when time is right for me,
And then I may chance upon, seeing you, meeting you, finally knowing you,
For you.

At the moment when I can at last come to you,
To tell you how I love you,
I will look back to check at how time has passed, eventually erasing all the hurt,
No nothing is the same, not the sunâ??s rays on new beginnings,
But the steps I took were all too slow,
You have outpaced me it seemed, I was too slow to follow.

Dear, I have come to you at such an inopportune time,
When already the chimes have been sounded,
When already the ties have been knotted,
And now you are lost to me forever,
As it was from the start.

For you, beloved, I walked slowly,
Even knowing what may lie waiting for me,
A facade of something, which could have had a beautiful ending,
That at the end of the day,
Always, I will be yearning.

And yet,
For you,
I still decided to come late in the afternoon,
To let you have the life that you deserve, which I perchance would not be able to serve,
For you, through all eternity, I will keep on walking by,
With small steps, dallying, until I meet you at last,
Irrespective of time and events, regardless of circumstance,
Just to say how I love you,
For you.
