Barefoot In The River

by Mollie   May 30, 2004

She walking barefoot through springs cold river,
the icy crystal couldn’t make her shiver,
walking swiftly against the currant,
her heart locked away now no one can earn it,

nothing could ever be as cold,
as what she had melted her heart into,
her eyes hid away be a blindfold,
whispers of lies that she thought were true.

She’s walking barefoot through springs cold river,
which was not there in the winter,
tears that filled it from the sky,
now replaced with tears from her eye,

She misses him but he doesn’t know,
she just wants it to be like before,
those words she dare not tell anyone,
she knows she needs to somehow move on.

She’s walking barefoot through springs cold river,
when there was nothing more she could deliver,
when all her heart was devoted to him,
he swept it away it meant nothing to him,

She now realizes she didn’t tell him her love,
he only saw half of her heart
but now she realized if he loved her enough,
she wouldn’t be left with this broken heart.

She’s walking barefoot through springs cold river,
she was left in the cold and he’s not there,
she doesn’t seem to even care,
though time to time she thinks, of what might have been there

She’s walked barefoot through springs cold river,
the icy crystal couldn’t make her shiver,
walking swiftly against the currant,
her heart locked away now no one can earn it.
