Epiphany of a Young Girl

by Indian Comma Bean   Jun 16, 2008

Feel the flesh beneath the soul,
Where history vanished, never told.
The scars, the tears, the darker times,
Where memory fades into sinful crimes.

Remember the past as a photograph,
Happy faces scanned on fleshed masks.
A laugh and a hug was all you needed,
Going along as you silently pleaded.

In tune with the music and all the fashion,
Hours in front of the mirror you stare;
A flawed design you persistently say,
Wondering why God made you this way.

You look at your friends in quiet alarm,
Curious as to what they'll tell you today.
Just try this take a sip of that,
It isn't to long until you've fallen flat.

As you cry and whimper,
Alone and lost; You apologize to the shadows.
As you uncover the blade,
For now you see that it's God you've betrayed.
