Almost worthy heart

Who are we to say that Tinman lacks a heart?
he has no beating
but intends on finding, he certainly plays the part;
of a long lost lover, out
searching all about
for she who makes
not breaks, his still and lifeless heart.

who are we to say that Davy Jones lost his?
his chest no longer pounding
but still he has his longing, for his eternal bliss;
for she he cannot own
for she whose love not shown
he gave
not save, for her his bleeding beating heart.

and you my dear friend who's reading
whose chest not still but pounding
can you truly say
in every way, that your heart is worth the keeping?
to search to lose what's missing
for love be readily willing
for Tin and Davy
who're heartless maybe, are you not the unworthy?
