Bruised & Broken

by David ODonnell   Jun 16, 2008

Beaten rough in inch of death
The heated blood now on your breath
Bruised and broken screams and cries
A jealous token displayed from lies

Silent whimpers under cover
From your dead exsistent lover
Soon to part in sickening ways
Stabbing the heart is strong but pays

Worn and wounded restless kills
Bloodshot eyes through darkened thrills
Death marked hands upon your face
Left you naked for your disgrace

Tears drown slowly thoughts of you
The blade that stings and slides right through
Scars in mind through deeds done quick
Thoughts of you still make me sick

Bodies burned in love on bed
Making love in fire whilst dead
Lifeless eyes still staring strong
Decisions made arent always wrong

Again this room will see the parted
Through all this shit and pain you started
Once the blade has quenched its thrist
A life worth living becomes a curse

To drift in hate and drive through fear
To feel so drained and no longer here
These walls that held the strong and brave
Are here but still no longer save

The jagged blade that draws a line
Through skin and blood thats now divine
My lonely soul begins to shake
And through the earth no more awake

No poem is better than another....but this one somehow takes the cake for me. Its deep, and dark. I love dark poetry. I let anger get to me and poetry is my release. The picture this poem paints is extremly detailed. I can see it from beginning to end. This is the 2nd poem of your that I have read and I am very excited to read more. 5/5
