Step Back And Look Around.

by CourtneyyContageous   Jun 17, 2008

It's funny when you look around,
Just take a giant step back.
Look at what we created,
Look at what we lack.

We were once a lovely world,
No crimes in which we commit.
But how much longer do we live like this,
Until God finally says 'that's it'?

Look at what we've become,
Animals of our own kind.
Can you feel the hatred in our world,
The countdown of our time?

Do you see the animals,
in which we have become.
There was once a time,
We were equals, we were one.

But all the wars we have created.
All our drunken nights,
Haven't came near to prepare us enough.
For the fight of our lives.

Everyone wants to go to Heaven,
But no one's willing to die?
We've become so wrapped in our problems.
We can't see anyone else's strife.

So help change out world now,
Help stop the hatred and sin.
Because what we live for now,
Might not be worth living for in the end.

This is so true. we really need to step up and do something about what our world has become.. i just hope that when we all realize this that it's not too late... really good poem, though. :)

This poem had so much truth in it, it's so disheartening. I like poems like this, though. Poems that tell us what problems we have, yet somehow manage to turn those ugly things, like the wars and the violence, into artwork.

There were a few problems here and there with flow and whatnot, but Rikki's comment pretty much sums those up.

    Good write. :)

This was amazing. It was so real. It struck a cord with me enough to make me think. If people take the time to read it, it'll remind them, too, that it's a perfect description of life.

    5/5
