With You, I Walk By Faith

I took the ever familiar road
with my head held up high
and a light to show me the way
on this long and narrow trail

but incessant waves of obscurity
doused the blaze in my eyes
and the life as i've planned it
now crumbles to its deep end

i could no longer see
the beaten path has escaped me

then in the darkness,
i felt you take my hand in yours
slowly and carefully guided me
amidst all this world's uncertainties

my eyes closed and no questions
with you, i walked only by faith
into the grasslands of open dreams,
the place where i needed to be
