There you sat

by Spoken Silence   Jun 17, 2008

** To the man that sat next door, reading every night for the 11 years that I've lived here. He was a second Dad to us all. So sad to see him leave **

**RIP: Michael Watson.**

Next door you sat,
Reading books every night.
Since I was a little girl,
There you sat.

We all played and screamed,
Running around having fun.
Memories to last a life time.
And there you sat.

Told us always to be careful,
Being nice to us when we needed.
As children you looked out,
And there you sat.

As we all grew up,
We went different paths.
You watched as grow,
And there you sat.

From conversations we used to have,
Changed to simple "Hi's" and "bye's"
None of us thought that you would go.
And there you sat no more.

Now I don't see you sit,
As I look out my window.
Just an empty chair on a porch.
With nothing to fill it.

This poem is about the same person in this other poem I wrote. They both tie in with each other.

This one was kind of like the other one. Same concept, but still just as sad. I'm so sorry again to hear of that loss of yours. Take care and hang in there. 5/5.
