Whiskey And Wine((Song))

by AmberSherrellxxIve Been Sitting Here Trying To Find Myselfxx   Jun 18, 2008

{Verse 1}
She stared out the window at the Vegas lights
But,they couldn't outshine the stars of the night
She felt his hand on hers and held on tight
He asked the familiar question "Are you alright?"
She nodded her head and forced a fake smile
Trying to block the memories and laughing in denial
People passed busily up and down the aisle
She still couldn't forget him over the vast miles

{Chorus}
She's trying to erase him by running away
Hiding her broken heart and acting okay
But,he's always on her mind, night and day
Thinking about calling him but, what would she say?
She'd tell him she was happy, doing just fine
Everything's perfect, a ray of sunshine
She'd forget to mention the city airline
And that she drowns her pain in whiskey and wine

{Verse2}
The plane touched down as they finally arrived
It was early in the morning, a quarter to five
Her heart was shattered but, still alive
Her spirit was weak but, still survived
He took her hand in his, speaking without sound
And all of a sudden, the rain crashed down
The streets were cluttered, the voices were loud
But, she felt so alone, just a face in the crowd

{Chorus}
She's trying to erase him by running away
Hiding her broken heart and acting okay
But,he's always on her mind, night and day
Thinking about calling him but, what would she say?
She'd tell him she was happy, doing just fine
Everything's perfect, a ray of sunshine
She'd forget to mention the city airline
And that she drowns her pain in whiskey and wine

{Verse3}
The water felt like kisses sliding down her skin
And as she stopped to think, she realized she couldn't win
She could run from him but, she couldn't escape her mind
Her heart would be healed but, only in a matter of time
The alcohol was only a poison, meant to numb the pain
But now as she watched him, everything changed
He was everything she wanted and he'd been here all along
Wrapped up in his arms is where she belonged

{Chorus}
She was trying to erase the past by running away
But when she looks at him everything's okay
He's been there by her side, night and day
She loved him so much more then words could say
She was with him and doing just fine
During the storm there was always sunshine
He'd traveled all this way on the city airline
And gave up his past days of whiskey and wine

    Country music is my life and this would make an amazing song. do you play guitar or piano? write music to go with it because it sounds like a carrie underwood or maybe even danielle peck or jo dee messina song
    but any way great job i love the rhyming and the story
