Patriotically Pathetic

"(CNN) -- A roadside bomb killed four U.S. Marines in Afghanistan Saturday, the U.S. military said.
It is the deadliest single attack against American troops this year in Afghanistan, according to military figures compiled by CNN."

They say this war,
Has no ending,
Has no meaning,
But try being a troop,
Fighting for you,
They go through,
Hell just to let you live,
What do you have back to give?
Nothing,
Live your nice little life and protest,
Protest against your very savior,
Who risks his life for you everyday,
Act like that's not a colossal favor,
You better quit protesting,
You better quit talking bad,
American citizens now hate the president,
Like its just a huge political fad,
Well that troop risking his life,
Could be a dad,
And rumor is,
This war is not making any progress,
It may not be going the best,
It may be causing families distress,
But one things for certain,
Our citizens are going through a test,
And evidently failing,
Like we are too good for this war,
Why does the media portray it like this for?
A couple years ago hundreds were being killed,
Even in Afghanistan,
Now it is 2008,
Most killed at once there is four,
But just keep up the hate,
Obviously there's nothing patriotic with you,
This situation has happened before,
It's not at all new,
In later years it will be regretted,
These Americans are patriotically pathetic...

    I agree with your premise that MOST Americans are pathetic, this may also have to do with being a 20 year vet.
    Okay your write... I have trouble with this form and had a lot of trouble finding your metre/rhythm in this write(poetry must have rhythm).
    Your rhyme scheme is all over the place, is there a scheme?
    As I said this should be told daily especially to the so called NEWS stations as they cause much of the problem with the citizens.
    As always an opinion.

    Wow! Another amazingly opinionated poem.. which I respect a ton! This poem was full of opinions. I agree with the beginning when you said that we don't really do anything, all we do is protest. We don't really appreicate what the troops do for us! Well, some do.. but I mean, like you said.. What do we give back? They risk our lives, and all we do is complain and don't really do anything. This poem is extremely opinionated but you know what.. I love that.. because nobody really appreicates what the troops do for us.. We just sit on our butts and watch it all happen. I love the topic of war.. It's got to be the easiest to write about.. because you can be just as opinionated as you were. I love this poem. I probably make no sense above, but I think you know this is a 5/5, because I can't take your opinion away from you.. whether the poem is poetic or not! =)
