Black Rose

by Amaranthine   Jun 19, 2008

The grim slick petals of a fresh black rose.
Darkness within covered with a dauntless purple tint.
Thus representing the evil within my own soul.
Something special about this flower, it has no scent.
Like my mind not letting anything out.
Sharp thorns piercing through the stem;
Not allowing anyone else to get In.
I am the black rose.

    I like this poem. I have always believed that black roses bring with them certain connotations, but I've personally always associated them with beauty - a dark, cold beauty, anyway. Nicely Done!
