Love's Birth

by H E Losey   Jun 19, 2008

As the rose bush in winter
Stands naked showing only its thorn
So my heart lies hard and dormant
Awaiting, hoping, for love to be reborn.

As the acorn, fallen, lies waiting
Half buried within the earth
So waits my love, asleep, entombed
Once alive now seeking rebirth

As with these two of nature
Within me dwells an emotion
So sweet and strong, beautiful and majestic
Awaiting release upon our reunion
