Stars

by Lindsey   Jun 19, 2008

The eyes of the stars are watching,
And laughing at the world.
Who all so blindly pray to them,
For their answers to be unfurled.

The youngest of children wish on them,
As a lone one shoots across the sky.
Holding no solutions, it leaves,
As quickly as it had come by.

The young man uses the bright night stars
To swear upon his love.
Though a simple star can hold no promises,
Suspended high above.

A long lost traveler looks for her,
The brightest in the night.
To guide him home, away from harm,
The star is his only light.

Scholars and scientists name them,
And the places they reside.
Although to them their names remain,
Unknown to all, in silent pride.

So forever and eternally,
The stars beyond remain.
A sign of guidance, of love, and hope,
And the wishes that they contain.
