Electricity, candle light and you

by Orchid Man   Jun 20, 2008

Last night we were left without any electricity and the darkness invaded us
I lit a candle and watched as it slowly melted and lost its fight for life.......
....its flickering glow slowly ebbed away and my thoughts turned to you
If you ever had to leave me I could never replace my Orchid Lady.

I looked across at you and inside my body my heart smiled; then relaxed
Like me it instantly recognised you were sitting beside us and I touched your hand
As our hands held each other I felt your love flow into me like a river flows into an ocean
Your shadow thrown by the candle's flame enticed me with its own individual beauty.

Orchid Lady there will never be another person like you; nor would I ever need anyone
No one could ever haunt me with your softness nor ever match the love you share with me
From the moment our eyes touched each other you planted a seed inside my heart.......
....and tonight that seed has grown into a beautiful orchid that gives me my every want.

I lit another candle which flickered and greeted your emerald green eyes.......
....eyes that give me more satisfaction than the greed and sparkle of any precious stone
It's amazing how the wall hugs your dancing shadow as air flow alters the candle's flame
Lovingly, these moments are precious moments that will always live in my memory.

Without warning the bright light of electricity again brings its warmth to us.......
....the candle flame has lost that faint light that has kept us company
Orchid Lady one thought again comes to me like water educates a deep thirst
Tonight you and I shall play together in my dreams - for you are my life.

Your hand gives me the strength of love
