Facade

To Jake.
My first.

Behind the smiles and cued laughter,
She's silently dying with every lie.
But by the time he sees it, it won't matter,
Because she won't bring herself to cry-
Does he realize with every breath, her heart shatters?
The pain is her tomb, preventing her from the highs.
On the day she met him, she must've walked under a ladder;
He's just bad luck- broken mirror, hearts, tears in the eyes.

(But she still loves him,
Even though the string keeping her alive is thin)
