Not really a poem, but to long to be a quote

Have you noticed in almost every movie, parents are always like "be yourself,
and people will be ok with that"

but in real life parents don't say that,
and if they do they just think that you'll be what they want,

and only a selective few are ok with who you really are,
if you choose to show them who you are
