Father

by Ashley   Jun 21, 2008

I look at your pictures and cry

I read your old letters and feel I could die

You left me alone in the dark

As I watch you play with your new family at the park

Your Intentions were probably good I know

But why did you have to go?

There is still a place in my heart for you

But your new family is there barrier in which you must break through

Deep down I know you still love me

You're the only father there will ever be

I'm waiting for you right here

Think about that before your next beer

In my dreams of you, you have taken a turn for the worse

I wake up and you're not here and I feel as if my life has been cursed

I just need to know one thing

So dial my number and allow me to hear the phone ring

Do you still love me dad?

Just think of what we could have had

If you just would have stayed

We could have been the ones who went outside and played...

"Your Intentions were probably good I know"
    -uncapitolize intentions.

"In my dreams of you, you have taken a turn for the worst"
-im not really sure if worst is the right word to use, isn't it worse? i guess i don't knoww. lol.

"I wake up and you're not here and i feel as if my life had been cursed"
-always remember to capitolize your i's.
    -had or has?

Overall a pretty good poem. I can tell the kind of relationship you and your father have. I'm guessing it's not a very good tight bond. But, this poem was really good. You expressed your feelings pretty nicely, I think. Other than the few things I pointed out, 5/5

Again, i remember from myspace....this one..the emotions evoked at the very end, along with the imagery involved just totally ties the whole peace together and makes the reader totally enraptured and drawn in....amazing
