Promises made and sometimes broken

by Alexis   Jun 21, 2008

The city still looks cold
we said as we dragged our guitars on our backs.
Just the two of us,
trying to make our own pattern
in the snow tracks.

Just two half-hearted fools
trying to make it through...
we've never felt more alone.
I promised you I would always be there for you
as long as you promised to be too.

Just two lost souls,
transfixed in our music...
we didn't know we had the best weapon,
maybe someday we'll know how to use it.

Just two confused teenagers
stuck in a boring city.
Noone recognizes their talent..their beauty.
Such a pity.

My darling, my love,
I promise you this..
we will escape someday.
and we'll leave this town
and use and abuse
everything in our way.
