Lazy Afternoon

by Sean Allen   May 31, 2004

I look up at the crystalline blue skies;
Too cold, too clear, and too unforgiving.
So deep, yet so bright; just like her clear eyes.
It is for this that I keep on living.

And here I sit, alone under a tree.
Just sitting and observing all of the
Wonderful beauty that lies around me.
I bow my head down as I start to plea

That you were still here, here right by my side.
I would give up everything for one chance,
All of my selfishness and stupid pride;
Anything to have just one last dance.

Outside I'm fine, but I am cold within.
I am tired without you, stretched too thin.

    I dont know if you took the advice to change the second stanza, but what I read is perfect just the way it is ;)

    Good point about the second stanza Aken, I just can't think of anything to change it to!

    Another love sonnet from the great Sean. Love, isn't it confusing sometimes? Your poem is great but you might want to change the 2nd stanza, because the end words sound the same, to make it even better.
