Tribute to Pain

by Sean Allen   May 31, 2004

O what beast
Has been born
Slinking silently
To the roots of all
O the star that fell from heaven
Accursed hatred, pain
With eyes of glowing red
How did it come to be?
Did He not make thee as well?
Why must pain
And pleasure
Come so close together?
Hand in hand we must march
Through the bloody plains
O how we roar!
The pain of just hearing
Is unbearable
How can we be the brothers
Of the one that tortures us?
Flying, crawling inch by inch
Closer
Closer to the surface
How could it be helped?
Is it not an evil divine?
So spread thou bile
Defiled white wings
Nine heads with nine
Sets of eyes
When shall He come?
When shall He set us free?
And his sword
Shimmering with righteous fury
The anger of countless eons
The end has come
Thank God
The end has come.
