Happiness is You

by Orchid Man   Jun 23, 2008

A crowded room full of unfamiliar faces -
- voices talking in so many different tones
Then I see you smiling at me in that way only you can
It's amazing how your smile brings peace to my searching gaze.

It doesn't matter if I see you once only or ten thousand times
Each time our eyes meet a lump comes into my throat -
- from the moment we met; albeit a long, long time ago
To wake up beside you each day brings a special delight into my life.

How do you tell a baby to stop crying or a bird not to sing its song?
Like my love for my Orchid Lady; some things in life can't be altered
I don't require gold or precious stones to make my days be filled with happiness
All I need is you to enrich each second and give my life true meaning.

You and I have laughed together; cried together and experienced many changes
Yet I would alter nothing, for you have freely given me so much of yourself -
- nurturing me from a young man into the person I have become today
Somehow I understand why Nature welcomes you wherever our walks take us.

Oh sweetheart, there is one thing I wish I could free you from -
- this is the illness that presently lives within you with its unwelcomed hurt
As I stand beside you amongst all these people -
- I only have eyes for you and your uniqueness.

You are my precious Orchid Lady
