Moon Light

by Amaranthine   Jun 23, 2008

The moonlight glistens on my face.
Dark consuming all the shadows.
He holds me closely to his chest.
Wrapping his arms around me to never let go.
Watching the beautiful stars and the moon.
Laying in the grass up against our special tree.
The still sound is peaceful while I drift to a slumber.
Many kisses and snuggles forever to remember.
The longing for the wonderful touch of this night.
Is stronger than any gravity holding us down.
Starry night of the dark being in his arms.
Gives me warmth inside my heart and soul.
To look at the moons face together smiling back upon us.
Making this dream come alive would be the best.
This wonderful moon is our connection to eachother.

First off, I love this poem. I haven't been able to write much in free verse lately, so I enjoy reading poems in that style that are great like this.

Only thing I had trouble with was this line:
"Starry night of peaceful ominous with him."

It just didn't make complete sense to me when it was "peaceful ominous". I'm not sure if it's grammatically correct, but I may be mistaken and it could be fine. It just sounded strange to me.

Other than that great poem. 5/5
