You Came

by A Phoenyx in Flight   Jun 23, 2008

When I saw it was you,
heading to my seat I lit up.
I couldn't believe you came.

Mommy you came to my recital.
My tenth year of dancing and you came.
I was so full of joy I almost burst with happiness.

That day you were supposed to call, but you didn't.
Instead you gave me the surprise of my life.
By showing up to my tenth year.

I was so nervous backstage.
Because I wanted to impress you.
By how good I had gotten.

During awards I got my ten year trophy.
I was so happy you were there to see.
I couldn't have wished a better thing.

After the show you gave me a huge hug.
You told me how proud you were of me.
Then gave me my flowers.

I started crying like a baby.
Because you were going back home.
Back up to Maine that same day.

You started to cry too.
I already miss you.
But I'm so happy you came.

That is so touching...Always stay close to your mom i have a story on that of my father and his mother... 9/11/01 was the day my grandma sadly passed away but,it had nothing to do with the boming it was an alchol addiction...At the time i lived in Kansas i was 7 or 8 and i did not understand how she died...but, we drove out to Arizona to attend her funeral watching my father put the box of her ashes in the ground was the first time i ever saw my dad shead a tear...and i asked him why he cried and he said that he will never be the same with his mother gone....

    Well great poem...
