So as I'm sure you'll notice, I write books for comments because those are the kinds of comments I personally like to get, yadda yadda yadda...bear with me.
Down on my face
No way I can hide this
I'm a disgrace
Nothing but guilt exists
^^ This is a very strong beginning. A lot of people feel exactly this way. It's rock bottom mentality but the way this poem was set up, i wanted to keep reading because i know that you can only go up from the bottom.
I fall down
Before you, oh my King
I fall face-down
And I sing
^^ Sometimes that's all there's left to do. We fall so far down that all we can do is fall before the King....again, reminded me a bit of sing to the king. lol.
Of how love comes down
Love undeserving
I bow before His crown
Punishment deserving
^^ we all deserve punshiment. we all sin...and i love how you said "love undeserving" because it's so true. a lot of christian works i read or see come off sounding almost cocky because people forget WHY christ died for us..
Can You forgive me
For all I've ever done
So please, set me free
I have become undone
^^ Oh wow...I think this is my favorite stanza. it's just so relatable and beautiful...simple, easy to follow, easy to relate. great.
I beckon for Your grace
So that I may live
I want to feel Your embrace
So that I may live
^^ Men do not live by bread alone....that's a scripture somewhere. lol. idk where. anyway, another great stanza.
Down on my face
Is where I belong
Down on my face
I sing this song
^^ And even when you've fallen so far, you're singing His praises. and I just think that's so great. You acknowledge you fell, you ask for forgiveness, you pretty much say "here i am". redemption's calling, dear...
Lovely poem. The only thing I would like to see changed would to be add periods and end punctuation. That way it flows just a little bit better. other than that, great. ^.^
