Washing the World Away

by fearose   Jun 24, 2008

A fear washes down like rivers
Cascading over a swollen hill
Eyes close, spine shivers
As you watch from your window sill

We hide in our little houses
Waiting off the surge and the pain
The general coughs and announces
Through the heavy downpour of rain

They came like a swarm of bats
And we're plastic figurines
To push around and laugh at
In their mighty schemes

Time is up for us, my friend
The army of hell comes to play
Say goodbye to the very end
As they wash the world away
