To Be a Raindrop

by StandStill   Jun 25, 2008

Rise so sweetly in the air,
Float across the earth's skin
Dance gently on the sunset's arms
Sing songs of exotic worlds you've been

Come together with others like you,
Hold close to those you need
Encircle, intermingle with one another
For whilst together, you are freed

Fall down gently, embraced by wind
Caressing the breeze with your embrace
Twirling with a dancer's ease
You fall down softly to your place

Splash unto a windowpane
Where on the other side, fingers gently play
They race you down to your destination
Where for a bit, you shall stay

"You will be like raindrops"
~Raindrops by Armor for Sleep

Oooh, Gabby. This was a very interesting poem. It made me look at raindrops in a different way, almost like they were human.

^^ Ahhhhh. Love this line. It makes the sunset seem touchable and alive.

You have a very creative mind. It's amazing how you can take something so simple as a raindrop and turn it into something so much more. I really enjoyed reading this.

    Keep writing!
